NEWS: Pittsburgh placed closer David Bednar on the injured list with a left oblique strain and recalled LHP Justin Bruihl from Triple-A Indianapolis.

BHQ SPIN: GM Ben Cherington said that the team will take an “all hands on deck” approach to the ninth-inning with Bednar (-1%, -10% saves) on the IL. We’ll split the difference in saves between Aroldis Chapman and Colin Holderman for now. Chapman has posted a 1.86 ERA over his last 10 appearances (eight scoreless) and has had 13 K during that span. Holderman took the loss Sunday after giving up two runs in the eighth. Overall, Holderman has a 0.68 ERA in 26.2 IP with a 101 BPV. A dark horse is Kyle Nicolás, who pitched a clean ninth...
