Traps and targets from early simulation drafts

Simulation managers have already started drafting based on complete 2023 statistics. We have the early results and our custom BaseballHQ rankings of same. Most simulations like Strat-O-Matic base their performances on the previous year. This allows for perfect information on probabilities, but those pesky dice determine actual outcomes.

Dynasty leagues dominate the simulation format. The annual draft features rookies, normally those who had less than 50 major league at bats or 30 innings pitched the previous year. Most provide a mechanism to hold a roster spot for injuries resulting in a lost year. So our guide focuses on those rookies who debuted in 2023.
