Winning at Strat-O-Matic requires not only similar BPI analysis of future trends for building a team, but also a thorough synthesis of the most recent past. Ratings look back at the previous season, so you must study unique trends regarding that particular year to win now. Here are some keys to winning based on that season and some hidden targets.
Scarcity of excellent pitching. While we know how 2017 featured an immense increase in home runs for hitters, in Strat-O-Matic that effect shows up more in the pitching ratings. In 2016, twelve pitchers averaged less than 20 on-base chances per side. In 2017, only seven meet that standard.
