STARTERS: Early Buy Low Targets 2013

It's never too early to be on the lookout for buy low targets for your starting rotation.

That said, tiny sample sizes at this time of the season can make bad starting pitchers look good and good SP look bad.

The key is to identify which slow starters actually make for good targets.

We'll do so by looking at the following skill-based indicators:

  • Expected ERA vs. ERA
  • Fastball Velocity April 2012 vs. April 2013
  • Swinging Strike Rate April 2012 vs. April 2013
