The Low Investment Mound Aces (LIMA) Plan is a way for you to ignore traditional categories like ERA and WHIP, instead focusing on high-skilled pitchers. The idea is to target skills without paying high-skill prices, thereby allowing you to spend more of your money on hitters.
Ron Shandler's refresh of the LIMA model from the 2023 Baseball Forecaster suggests that the best LIMA targets are those who are projected to meet the following thresholds:
- Strikeout rate (K%) of 25% or greater;
- Walk rate (BB%) less than 10%;
- Home run rate less than 3.5%.
