RELIEVERS: Who's Next?

This week, the column looks for change that could (or should) occur in the near future. We start in San Diego.

Since returning from the disabled list on June 15, closer Huston Street (RHP, SD) has allowed seven hits and no walks with one earned run across five innings. He has only one blown save on the year. So what's the problem? The problem is that he managed only one strikeout in those five innings, continuing a pattern before he went on the DL (a 5.0 Dom this season). In fact, his season skills to-date are not closer-worthy:

SD IP ERA WHIP Dom Cmd hr/9 xERA G/F BPV
=========  ==== ==== ==== ==== ==== ====  ====  ===== ===
Street     25.3 4.26 1.26  5.0  1.8  2.8  4.89  32/44  23
Gregerson  32.7 2.48 1.01  7.4 ...

Almost!
