Machado looks to rebound from a “down” year … The tennis elbow Manny Machado (3B, SD) has dealt with for most of the past two seasons finally worsened to the point where he was limited to DH for the final several weeks of the 2023 season and ultimately required right elbow extensor tendon repair surgery on October 3. Despite that ailment and a small fracture in his left hand that sidelined him for the second half of May, he still managed to bat .258 with 30 HR in 601 PA, but his R$ crashed from $37 R$ in 2022 to $19 R$ in 2023.
