F/F SPOTLIGHT: David Peterson

The lens we use for our Facts & Flukes Spotlight space aims to focus on established players whose stats or skills have made interesting changes during the year.

This week's Spotlight will take a slightly different approach. We're shining light on David Peterson (LHP, NYM), a starting pitcher who was no better than an end-game 2023 draft pick in most leagues (418 ADP) given his history of volatile results. In addition, he's reached 100+ innings just once in his career, leaving us with sub-optimal sample sizes to analyze and making him less attractive as a target.

Few pitchers have been as volatile as Peterson over the last few seasons, a trend that has continued this season:

Year IP ERA WHIP 5x5
