Early deep league targets, 2025

As we did with starting pitchers this week, let's help you target where to spend your speculative dollars on hitters if you play in a very competitive or deep league.

Here are a bunch of under-the-radar bats in each league that could be worth pursuing if you are searching for speculative targets.


AMERICAN LEAGUE

Addison Barger (3B/RF, TOR) is a batter with some significant appeal in deep leagues. His poor stats (.220 BA, 0 HR, 7 RBI, 0 SB, .618 OPS in 54 PA) are hiding some premium batted ball quality: 96.6 mph EV, 15.4 LA, 12.5% Brl%. Further, he's not chasing much (24.8% Chase Rate), nor is he swinging-and-missing a lot (9.6% SwK%), which backs his 80%+ ct%. He's someone with more upside than you might realize.
