Deep league targets, 2025

As we did with starting pitchers last week, let's help you target where to spend your speculative dollars on hitters if you play in a very competitive or deep league.

Here are a bunch of bats in each league that could be worth pursuing if you need to gamble on hitting help for the second half, including some intriguing performers at Triple-A.


AMERICAN LEAGUE

Samuel Basallo (C/1B, BAL) is currently dealing with a tweak to his oblique in Triple-A, potentially delaying his MLB debut. Basallo's bat has been ready for the majors for months now. Check out what he has done at age 20: .264 BA, 19 HR, 40 RBI, .975 OPS in 253 PA. He hasn't hacked his way there, either (15% bb%, 78% ct%, 0.71 Eye).
