BATTERS: Potential undervalued and overvalued batters for 2015

With the 2014 season winding down, it’s time to shift toward 2015 drafts and auctions. Today we’ll use Ron Shandler’s principles of “Extreme Regression Drafting” to help us identify potentially undervalued and overvalued players next season. The basic idea is to target players with solid skills that underperformed while avoiding players with large positive variances in their 2014 statistics. The list is just the starting point as deeper analysis of skills is required in order to truly assess each player.

The chart below was created using the following criteria (stats through the games of September 6):

  • Minimum of 300 ABs in 2013 and 2014
  • Minimum difference of $10 lost in R$ value from 2013 to 2014
