Webb's sinker/slider approach to RHH

Logan Webb's ramps up sinker

In his successful 2022 season that featured a 2.91 ERA and 1.11 WHIP, Logan Webb relied upon mostly a three-pitch mix between his sinker (32.9% usage), slider (32.7% usage), and change-up (31.2% usage). The right-hander's 2.91 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 2023 are providing plenty of fantasy value while his pitch mix has changed. His slider had better expected stats than his sinker in 2022, as hitters had a .253 xwOBA against the pitch. Although his sinker provided a 66.8% GB% in 2022, hitters posted a .303 xBA, .440 xSLG (.450 SLG), and .358 xwOBA when facing the sinker.

Through ten starts, Webb has pushed his sinker usage to 41.4% while trimming down his slider usage to 22.9%.
