Early in the offseason, I committed to producing an offseason prospect trade ranking, expecting the list to be filled with many HQ100 prospects. While big names like Francisco Lindor, Nolan Arenado, Blake Snell, and Yu Darvish were traded this offseason, only one HQ100 prospect, Luis Patiño, was involved in any of the deals. Mostly, we saw teams dump pricey contracts for mid-tier or lesser prospect returns. In fact, the Cubs acquired a bunch of high-ceiling complex kids, along with Zach Davies, in exchange for Yu Darvish and Victor Caratini.
