MINORS: Ranking the prospects from the 2023 trade season

The trade deadline has come and gone with only a few noteworthy deals. Some will say this was a sellers’ market. However, examining the state of prospects, even with the recent influx of 2023 draft prospects, it is a down prospect market overall.

The biggest deal came in just before the deadline with the Mets sending Justin Verlander to the Astros for Drew Gilbert and Ryan Clifford, both potential Top 100 prospects come this offseason. In fact, Gilbert and Clifford join Luisangel Acuña, acquired in the Max Scherzer deal with Texas, as three significant youthful pieces as the Mets begin a rebuild or retooling.
