MINORS: The Eyes Have It—2019 Futures Game Scouting Notes

This year’s MLB Futures Game, showcasing some of the best and brightest prospects in baseball, is in the books. Sunday’s night game, originally scheduled for 7 innings, ended in an 8 inning 2-2 tie. The game had its moments. Mostly, the pitching was too much for the hitters.

Brent Hershey and I originally planned on working the game together. Unfortunately, weather in Philadelphia prevented Brent from joining me in Cleveland. I hated for him to miss it since the Futures Game, much like the AFL Fall Stars Game during First Pitch Arizona, is a reunion of sorts for us in prospect media. Plus, you get to see the very best prospects showcase their skills in one place, which is invaluable during list season.
