Minor league All-Star game season is now in full swing, as evaluators again take the upside (in theory, a field full of prospects) with the downside (the smallest of sample sizes in a red-light setting). When the High-A California and Carolina leagues get together for their yearly contest, the upside is even a bit stronger, as you’re hopefully getting the best talent from two leagues on one field.
This year’s contest was in Wilmington, DE, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, a Kansas City affiliate.
