While scouting the Carolina League, it has stood out how even the top prospects and players are still inconsistent from game to game and start to start. In order to make it into professional baseball to start with, a player needs to be at a high baseline level of talent, but a distinguishing factor between which players make it and which ones do not is often consistency. This consistency is often one of the last things that a young player develops before they are able to make it into the major leagues, and often players do not even develop this trait until they have played in the majors for a few years.
