Obviously, this year was different. 

While we're still waiting on MLB baseball to get started, the MLB First Year Player Draft has pivoted its format (reduced to five rounds total from its normal 40) under some extenuating circumstances. COVID-19 effectively shut down all college and high school baseball in mid-March, the the extensive in-person evaluations that MLB clubs traditionally have done just disappeared. It affected everyone—all the clubs, all the draft-eligible players, and made made for the most unique MLB Draft in quite some time.
