This week we continue our annual review of the top prospects in baseball by position, focusing on second base. For the past two weeks we have been lamenting the lack of positional depth at C and 1B. At first blush, that theme continues this week as second base is historically one of the weakest positions in baseball. When the 2013 Minor League Baseball Analyst went to press in January, we had just two 2B on our HQ100 prospect list: Nick Franklin (SEA) at #40 and Kolten Wong (STL) at # 47—and most of Franklin’s games at 2B were in the Arizona Fall League.
