If there was one overarching theme to the 2024 season, I'd say it's a stubborn continuation of a generally below-average prospect landscape, as the level of talent has struggled to rebound to pre-pandemic levels. Of course there are the potential stars everyone is familiar with toward the top of prospect lists. However, the talent pool drops off rather quickly as it has in recent years. Without having crunched any real numbers, it feels as though there has been a lack of young breakouts from the Latin American ranks to go along with some rather underwhelming draft classes (albeit there is still time for that to turn around).
