Despite lackluster performance in the minors the past two seasons, the Reds recalled the 24-year-old left-handed hitter after sending OF Scott Schebler to the minors. Waldrop had a brief appearance with Cincinnati in 2015 (one AB) and is expected to serve as a reserve outfielder for the near future. He’s only showed glimpses of raw power against live pitching and that pop was supposed to be his calling card. The length in his swing has been exposed by advanced pitching and he struggles to lay off stuff outside of the strike zone. Waldrop also lacks the patience...
