With José Iglesias nursing a sore knee, the Tigers recalled the 23-year-old, right-handed hitter from Triple-A. A few years ago, it seemed as though Machado was no longer in the Tigers' plans. After his breakout season with the bat in 2014, he is now considered part of the future, though his role is uncertain. He is best known for his outstanding defense where his quickness, range and instincts are all well above average. He can make difficult plays looks easy, and he doesn’t make many errors.
