Dealing with several injuries, the Cubs called up infield prospect Jeimer Candelario and immediately started him at 3B where he went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. The 22-year-old Candelario is a switch-hitter with power and a good understanding of the strike zone. Right now, his power is more gap power, his ISO tending to jump back and forth between .140 and .170 or so. It was quite high in his small sample in Triple-A Iowa, but that is the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He shows a good eye at the plate, with 14 walks to 18 strikeouts at Iowa. His Double-A...
