The Red Sox recalled the 24-year-old from Triple-A after placing RHP Clay Buchholz on the disabled list. It is expected that Johnson will be available out of the bullpen until the All-Star break and then he’ll assume a spot in the big league rotation. He has a strong frame with plenty of durability and average arm strength. He uses his 6’4” height well and throws from a high three-quarters slot to keep the ball low in the zone.
