Andrew Albers (LHP, MIN)
Albers, 27, has been called up from Triple-A Rochester to take Scott Diamond's (LHP, MIN) slot in the MIN rotation. Diamond was optioned to Rochester and Albers is expected to make his first start August 6 in Kansas City. Albers' first professional season was in 2008 with the Padres, where he started just five games before suffering an injury that would lead to Tommy John surgery. As a result, he missed all of 2009. After playing independent ball in 2010, the Twins signed Albers to a minor-league contract, and the lefty will now have the chance to make his major league debut. Albers is the prototypical MIN...
