Ryan Goins (IF, TOR)
Goins makes his major league debut for the injured Maicer Izturis (2B, TOR), who is slated to be out until at least September 5. The 25-year-old Goins was drafted in the 4th round out of Dallas Baptist University in 2009, where he both pitched and played infield. During his minor league career, he has started most games at shortstop, but has gotten some exposure at 2B and 3B as well. After bouncing back and forth between rookie ball and A ball for three seasons, Goins had a nice year at Double-A in 2012 and has performed decently during his first go-round in Triple-A this season.
