SPECULATOR: Opening weekend, 2022

Sweating out saves. Compulsively checking live scoring. Spending Sunday night (after an afternoon at a three-year-old's birthday party) studying FAAB. In other words, a return to normal for us fantasy addicts.

With only a few days in the books, it's too early for even our snappiest of judgments—we'll start on those next week—but there are a few macro-level takeaways and just general observations on what went down this past weekend. Let's dig in.

The ball… and hitter odds-n-ends

Premature, sure, but a quick league-level look at strikeouts and home runs from this weekend compared to previous seasons through April 10:

Year   K%  HR/FB  Hard%
====  ===  =====  =====
2019  23%  14.3%  36.9%
2020         ---
2021  25%  13.4%  31.6%
2022  23%...

Almost!
