Roughly six weeks later, it was revealed that Gurriel had surgery on that same wrist, which led us to this write-up in the 2023 Baseball Forecaster:
October news that he underwent wrist surgery was an "Aha!" moment for those of us who had spent all year wondering where his power had gone. Didn't muster a single HR after July 1. Another reminder...
