As recently noted here, there's been an increase in the popularity of daily fantasy baseball games, where you can draft a new team each night. One statistic that some might use to help decide who to roster is how well each particular batter has performed in previous AB against the scheduled starting pitcher.
It is not difficult to find specific batter vs. starting pitcher data. Not only can it be found at popular websites such as ESPN.com and CBSports.com, but it's also often shown on television during live broadcasts. In fact, the frequent use of such statistics by color commentators has bestowed a certain legitimacy to them.
