Injury: Torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL)
DL date: August 25
Estimated DL time: Out for 2013. Harvey says he’ll avoid surgery and will return April 1, 2014. Reality says pitchers with a partially torn UCL almost always undergo Tommy John surgery.
Samuel Deduno (RHP, MIN)
Injury: Sore right shoulder
DL date: August 30
Estimated DL time: He’ll get some rest in the hope his shoulder responds. If it doesn’t he definitely done for the year. As it stands now, its highly unlikely he can make it back in September.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: None expected
Wilkin Ramirez (OF, MIN)
Injury: Fractured fibula – left leg
DL date: August 30
Estimated DL time: He’s out for the year, though should be ready for...
