Dr. HQ: roundup of early-March injuries

Cole Hamels (LHP, PHI)
Injury: Shoulder weakness and soreness – left shoulder
Spring Training Outlook: The original injury (biceps tendinitis) occurred in November during his throwing program. His recent setback now will cost him at LEAST all of April. The weakness problem means the Phils will need to bring him along slowly in March and April.
2014 Impact: At this point, it would not come as a surprise if Hamels is out until sometime in May. If he has avoided structural damage to the shoulder and not suffer any more setbacks,  it is possible he can post four solid months. Personally, I would not take that bet, though.

Luke Hochevar (RHP, KC)
Injury: sprained ulnar collateral ligament. (Most like a grade 2 sprain)
