Rehab Updates:
Mashahiro Tanaka (RHP, NYY)
Injury: Partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, right elbow.
Rehab update and ETA: His latest throwing session of 49 pitches was intially encouraging, though Friday the Yankees announced he had a setback and will be out for at least a couple more weeks. Tanaka hopes to be able to avoid Tommy John surgery, which would wipe out his 2015 season.
Homer Bailey (RHP, CIN)
Injury: Strained right forearm
Rehab update and ETA: The latest MRI on his forearm did not indicate improvement or at least some progress. If Bailey does not show improvement and quickly he’s likely out for the rest of the 2014 season.
