THE BIG HURT: The 10-day DL and other 2017 injury trends

Welcome to 2018! With the January cold (for many of us) comes our first inklings of fantasy baseball prep. We'll again be here all season to monitor and give advice on the various health questions and issues that arise. But until camps open, it's always a good idea to look back on the year past to see what we can glean from last year's trends as we look forward to 2018. Here's several issues to consider:

The 10-Day DL

in 2017, MLB changed the minimum time on disabled list transactions from 15 days to 10 days. Teams wanted more flexibility to manage their rosters, and players didn’t want to feel obligated to play when dinged up. It was a seemingly minor change, but it had a significant impact on roster management in fantasy leagues.
