AL East: Rodríguez making pitch to stick in TOR rotation

Toronto made a change to its starting rotation on Saturday, calling up Yariel Rodríguez after the Cuban right-hander impressed in his first two starts for AAA-Buffalo (6.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 10 K, 3 BB). Rodríguez pitched well in his major league debut (3.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 6 K, 2 BB) in a win over the Rockies. The right-hander, who is still stretching out as a starter after a delayed start to camp following visa issues and an absence for back spasms, reached 68 pitches after averaging 51 pitches in his first two outings in AAA.
