As previously noted in this space, Alex Dickerson (OF, SD) was an interesting name to tuck away when mining for second-half value. But that possibility seems to have taken a major hit as Dickerson suffered yet another setback while rehabbing from a bulging disc in his lower back, making it less and less likely that Dickerson sees time on the field in 2017.
Meanwhile, Opening Day left fielder Travis Jankowski (OF, SD) remains at least a few weeks away as he makes his slow recovery from a fractured foot. Jankowski had only 8 hits in 50 AB (.160 BA) with 2 SB before hitting the DL, and how his running game responds upon return will shed considerable light on how much value he can contribute over the second half of the...
