The back-end of the Padres’ rotation is likely to remain in flux for much of the season, as the team boasts plenty of depth in both its bullpen and rotation. For now, Adrián Morejón (LHP, SD) has locked into the fifth starter role, though he is almost certain to not stay there the entire season, as he’s never thrown more than 65 innings in a full season. [EDITOR'S NOTE: This column was filed prior to Morejón leaving Sunday's start with a forearm strain.] However, in somewhat of a surprise, former top prospect Chris Paddack (RHP, SD) may also be on notice, according to a mailbag recently completed by Dennis Lin of The Athletic.
