Gavin Lux (2B/OF, LA) suffered a torn ACL early in spring training and was quickly ruled out for the season. He was projected to play a significant role at both shortstop and second base, so it’s worth reevaluating both the projected starter and depth at each position. Offseason acquisition Miguel Rojas (SS, LA), returning from hand surgery, is likely to serve as the Dodgers’ primary shortstop, while Miguel Vargas (OF, LA) should have a clear path to plate appearances at second base -- assuming the hairline fracture in his pinkie finger heals in time for the regular season.
