Brandon Crawford (SS, SF) has been a fixture at shortstop for the Giants across the last decade, but he’s coming up on the final year of his current contract. He spoke honestly about the possibility of retirement earlier in the season, and while he was noncommittal about his future, he did say that retirement would be among the topics of discussion. If his performance and availability in 2023 are an indication, it may be time. As for the former, he’s posted career-worst marks in ct%, xBA, and BPV, and among his worst in PX and xPX. The latter hasn’t been much better, as he’s currently sidelined with his third stint on the injured list that has cost him roughly a month's worth of action.
