Gabriel Moreno (C, ARI) hasn’t had the offensive breakout many had hoped for in his second season, providing very little power (70 PX) without showing potential for much more (72 xPX). His primary issue continues to be struggling to lift the ball (57 GB%), though that isn't to say there haven't been other positive parts of his skills profile (78 ct%, 101 HctX). Perhaps most importantly, he’s proven to be an excellent defensive catcher, racking up 11 defensive runs saved while throwing out 18 of 38 would-be base stealers. His one defensive shortcoming appears to be framing, but overall, he seems to have established himself as a capable big-league backstop.
