It looks like it could be a summer of redemption in the Arizona outfield. The first step in that process is well underway, as Jake McCarthy (OF, ARI) has recovered from an early season demotion to Triple-A Reno to retake the primary center field job. Since being recalled on May 26, he’s produced in the best way, posting a high ct% (80% in June) with 12 stolen bases. While Dominic Fletcher (OF, ARI) put together an admirable challenge to McCarthy’s playing time, that appears to be a distant memory.

Alek Thomas (OF, ARI) hopes to be next. He was recalled from the minors on Sunday and has started both games since. He was stuck in a strong-side platoon even before his demotion, so he’s not likely to claim an everyday...
