Mike Foltynewicz (RHP, ATL) was designated for assignment after his first start of the season; the latest severance involved Sean Newcomb (LHP, ATL), after the Phillies bludgeoned him for 8 ER, 6 H, 2 BB in just 1.3 IP on August 10. Newcomb wasn’t DFA’d like Folty—he remains on the 40-man roster and 60-man player pool, but was remanded to the team’s alternate training site.
