Jason Heyward (OF, ATL) has gotten off to a rather disappointing start this season. A .198/.309/.296 is well below expectations, although the four stolen bases have been a pleasant surprise considering how he swiped just two bags a year ago (after 21 SB in 2012). But still, a .309 OBP isn’t going to cut it for a leadoff hitter. If Heyward continues to struggle, manager Fredi Gonzalez might consider a change.

Andrelton Simmons (SS, ATL) would, in all likelihood, be the choice. However, his .248/.296/.396 in 606 AB a year ago, including a .219/.256/.332 in 302 PA in the leadoff spot, doesn’t inspire much confidence that he would be an upgrade. He has swung the bat well so far this season (.297/.308/.486 with 3 HR and 3 K in...
