Okay, so we obviously can’t just breeze past the huge deal that netted Matt Olson (1B, ATL) from OAK in exchange for Cristian Pache (OF, OAK), Shea Langeliers (C, OAK), Ryan Cusick (RHP, OAK), and Joey Estes (RHP, OAK)—right?
Actually, we can. There has already been excellent coverage on the deal posted since this column was filed, with more analysis surely to come (maybe even in this space, soon).
Let’s have a look at another issue on the Braves that was covered by a smaller but still meaningful recent headline: staff ace Charlie Morton (RHP, ATL) reported to camp on time, but he hasn’t yet committed to being ready for Opening Day. He had his fibula broken during Game 1 of the 2021 World Series on a screaming...
