Justin Ruggiano (OF, CHC) is nearing the beginning of a rehab assignment, as he makes his way back from a hamstring strain that sidelined him in late April. He's not going to make a huge impact, or take on a major role, but his arrival is likely to cut into the playing time of Nate Schierholtz (OF, CHC), who continues to scuffle.

Schierholtz put up a career year in 2013, as he hit 21 home runs, his first time reaching double digits in that category. He seemed like a poor bet to repeat, but has fallen well short of expectations, hitting just .206 with no home runs in 136 at-bats.
