With his 2018 campaign off to a dreadful start, Ian Happ (2B/OF, CHC) has continued to find his name in the lineup somewhat regularly despite a multitude of other options in the outfield. Manager Joe Maddon gave Happ a vote of confidence on May 2, stating a belief that he can he hit way out of his current struggles. This was the path the club went down with Kyle Schwarber (OF, CHC) last season when the outfielder, was demoted to Triple-A in late June when he had a .171/.295/.378 slash line.

Of course, Schwarber didn’t have the dreadful plate skills that Happ’s displayed thus far. Stephen Nickrand included Happ in his  “Very early slow start sells” edition of the Batter Buyers Guide on April 22 due to his 52% ct% and 0.16...
