Colleague Kristopher Olson artfully pointed out that now (more realistically three days ago when the article was published) is perhaps the last opportunity to roster Josh Lowe (OF, TB) on your team for any type of reasonable acquisition cost. While I can’t replicate his creativity, the concept is fair game and also applies to Dylan Carlson (OF, STL). As was expected, Carlson served as the Cardinals leadoff hitter for the entirety of the Cardinals’ opening series against the Pirates. While all caveats apply to the fact that Pittsburgh likely has a bottom-five rotation in the league, and that may be generous, Carlson was an on-base machine.
