A team that will be preparing for the playoffs won't be thinking much, if at all, about 2020 auditions. But roster expansion will provide input into how post-season rosters are decided, and the organization's embarrassment of high minors riches has already yielded a pre-September surprise this past week in the form of Abraham Toro's (3B, HOU) MLB debut. Toro wasn't on the 40-man roster, but Carlos Correa's balky back changed that in a hurry, and Toro has now made five starts, going 4-for-19 in the early going. How much September opportunity he gets will depend on his immediate performance and Correa's return, but Toro is suddenly (and unexpectedly) in the conversation.
