The recent infield news has been mixed. David Fletcher (2B/SS/3B/OF, LAA) has avoided an IL stint thus far, but was out of the starting lineup for six consecutive days with a sore left shoulder. As Fletcher returned, Tommy La Stella (3B/2B, LAA) was knocked out of the starting lineup for several days due to left forearm tightness. Both players have enjoyed banner seasons at the plate, fueling an unexpected LAA offensive uptick while providing defensive versatility all over the diamond, little of which is being offered by the other 25-man roster infield options.
