A suddenly burgeoning IL and 1B Jared Walsh's struggles (.125 BA, 1 HR, 63% ct% through 75 PA) have made for a new-look infield, coming at the peak of the club's best stretch of the season—winning 12 of 15 before a 2-0 loss to LA on Tuesday June 22. Previously a strength, the bottom of the order suddenly looks anemic and will leave Mgr Phil Nevin scrambling for nightly lineups.

Replacing Zach Neto (Grade 1 oblique strain) at SS until further notice is defensive wizard Andrew Velazquez, who hasn't been awful in his first four games back (3-for-13, 3 SB). But his running game (17/1 SB/CS last year) is the only offensive plus that Velazquez provides; his .540 OPS (349 PA) in 2022 with LAA and .203/.337/.392 line this...
