While save speculation has rightfully focused on Jordan Romano (RHP, TOR) and Rafael Dolis (RHP, TOR) in light of the season-ending Tommy John surgery of Kirby Yates (RHP, TOR), there are at least a few other dark horse ninth-inning candidates to be aware of in the Toronto bullpen.

It was easy to be skeptical of the Blue Jays’ plan to use Tyler Chatwood (RHP, TOR) as a high-leverage reliever. But thus far this spring, it looks like a stroke of genius.

Through seven spring innings, Chatwood has allowed a lone hit, striking out five and walking none. Chatwood also has a history of being able to amp up his fastball when working primarily out of the bullpen. His fastball averaged 95.9 mph when he was pitching mainly in...
